Our Story

Berries is an independent family owned business located in the quiet, quaint, and renowned fishing village of Port St Mary on the beautiful Isle of Man. Here at Berries we passionately believe in keeping traditional food craft skills alive and painstakingly handcraft all of our creations to the very highest of standards. Not only do we use exceptional local Manx produce, but we also source the finest of ingredients available worldwide to create an impressive range of award winning products.

Our sumptuous Christmas Puddings, tantalising Cakes, and heavenly Chocolates have gained an outstanding reputation for both quality and taste. In 2012 & 2013, our Vintage & Traditional Christmas Puddings received the highest of accolades at The Great Taste Awards - the most trusted and recognised awarding body within our industry. As a consequence of this, our Vintage Christmas Puddings were exported to the prestigious Fortnum & Mason Department Store in London in December 2012.

Following our notable launch in 2011, our business continues to expand without us losing our quintessential ‘small business’ approach. Our ultimate objectives are to deliver our customers a first class service and to continue supplying high quality products created by our dedicated team below.

Founder - Kathryn Berrie

Kathryn personally oversees our Recipe and Product development. At the 2012 Great Taste Awards, Kathryn was awarded with a coveted 3*Gold Award for her vintage Christmas pudding based on an old family recipe. Her passion for baking has lasted a lifetime.

Her son, Karl Berrie

Karl is our Head Chocolatier and is responsible for the development and refinement of our chocolate products. He joined his mother at Berries in 2013 and quickly gained a reputation for being one of the best Chocolatiers in the United Kingdom. Karl has also received numerous awards for his inventive chocolate creations, expertise, and above all, his fine eye for detail.

Natalie Kermode

Natalie joined Berries in 2013 and is our Office Manager, helping to coordinate our busy day to day activities. Natalie can often be seen donning a chef’s hat when assisting in our production areas.
